      The 7th Annual Meeting of the Environmental Consortium
The 2010 Consortium meeting and conference brought together small-scale family farms; chefs/restaurant owners; agriculture policy experts; farm-to-table non-profits; researchers and others to foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary dialogue about our foodshed.

Following two days of proceedings, the recommendations to higher education from keynote speakers, panelists, and presenters were clear:

1. train young farmers (the overwhelming majority of them are now 57+ years old);

2. encourage community dialogue to make land use policies more favorable to farmers;

3. offer college and university land for model teaching farms; and

4. conduct research on sub-regional foodsheds and organic or biodynamic agricultural food systems.
